Winter Wine Series
Barnsley Gardens Resort is delighted to announce our Winter Wine Series for 2009. Set against the sweeping backdrop of this lovely Garden, our Winter Wine Series has become a very well attended and highly sought after event during the January, February March time frame.
The Series began several years ago as a means to provide activity during the colder months. The award winning culinary creations of Chef Charles Vosburgh are masterfully paired with each wine, capturing the essence of what wine is really all about --- its relationship with food. Chef Vosburgh may choose to begin the 5 course evening with one of the lighter wines or a little bubbly served with hors d’oeuvres to get the pallet working toward the culmination of the evening: a sumptuous entrée served with perhaps two fine cabernets.
We’ve been known to finish the evening with a grand prize that could mean a lovely weekend for you and someone special here at Barnsley.
We strive to avoid a lecture/education setting, opting instead for a few things that bring us all together----communal style seating, a bit of trivia, a few door prizes, recognizing birthdays, anniversaries and other dates of note. Oh, and amongst all the fun, an expert on tonight’s wine, who will give information about the wine and winemaking, but whose goal is to stroll the room, answering specific questions of each table, or elaborating on winemaking in general or their wine in particular.
All dinners are on selected Saturday evenings served in the Rice House, and begin promptly at 7pm. Reservations are required and may be made by phone at 770.773.7480, asking for Restaurant Reservations, or by email to gteague@barnsleyresort.com.
Each dinner will be priced between one hundred forty and two hundred dollars per person.
Currently, the following wines will be offered on the following dates.
Please note, as menus, specific pricing and additional dates come available, they will certainly be offered on our website: barnsleyresort.com.
January 10 The wines of Blue Rock with wine maker and owner, Kenny Kahn Click here to view our menu for this event.
January 24 The wines of Verite with Master Sommelier, Luis Reyneri

We look forward to having you as our guest for a memorable evening and a well deserved respite from the usual.
